Solo
After Kym left Hear’Say, she decided to go solo, she was offered a record deal with Universal Island.
Kyms first single as a solo artist was called Cry which was released in April 2003, Cry went straight to number two in the chart, Kym then went on to release her second single in July 2010 entitled – ‘come on over’ which was also a top 10 single.
Shortly after the release of her second in single in July Kym released an album – ‘Standing Tall’ which did really well in the chart and got to number 9 in the UK album charts.
The album had 15 Great Tracks and a few of which Kym Co-Wrote, One called ‘Because Of You’ which Kym said was for her Children David and Emily.
Following the release of her album, Kym released her final single from the album ‘Sentimental’ in October 2003, Sentimental didnt do as well in the chart as her other singles due to very little record company promotion.
Kym then parted with Universal Island and is not currently looking for another record deal…
Kym, although not releasing any songs, still continues to sing at various shows and charity concerts, She has covered some great songs in various concerts, such as ‘Halleujah’ ‘Fields Of gold’ ‘Son of a Preacher Man’ and ‘I will Survive’ among others!
